For the past few years ALDI has given us a warming tipple to celebrate the Easter season in the form of Hot Cross Bun Gin, but this year there’s a new bevvy on the block – Hot Cross Bun Vodka Liqueur.

From April 2 you’ll be able to get your hands on the new, limited edition vodka liqueur, which is apparently like drinking a hot cross bun – with a kick.

The festive vodka is described as being infused with the ‘rich, aromatic flavours of cinnamon and caramelised brown sugar’. The Australian small-batch liqueur is smooth and velvety, drawing inspo from hot cross buns with its sweetness and spice.

Best enjoyed neat over ice or added to a cocktail, the 500ml bottles will retail for $24.99.

ALDI has previously made headlines with its colour-changing gin and unicorn gin.

  • Ive been dreaming of this deliciousness from when I last read about it. Unfortunately our local Aldi does not stock alcohol so it is unavailable to us. I am just wondering if any of the best sips community managed to get a bottle and what it tasted like teamed up with hot buttered hot cross buns.

  • This looks amazing!! I would love to buy this but unfortunately living in QLD, our ALDI stores don’t sell alcohol. Wonder if I can purchase this elsewhere or online.

  • Hmmm, perplexing. I enjoy both vodka and hot cross buns. I enjoy vodka because it doesn’t have a flavour, it becomes whatever mixer you put with it. I dont think I’ll be tempted to try this one

  • I get the feeling this would be quite similar to Fireball, so DEFINITELY worth a try! Such a shame Aldi doesn’t sell alcohol in Qld, used to love being in Melbourne and doing my groceries and getting a nice bottle of something, so convenient! Guess will have to make the trip over the border!!

  • This sounds amazing! It’s a shame that South Australian Aldi stores don’t sell alcohol. I loved the specials when I lived in Melbourne. I’ll have to get someone to buy a bottle for me and send it over. This would make a great Easter chocolate and spice espresso martini for an adults treat.

  • Ohhhh this sounds delicious!! Imagine enjoying an Aldi easter bun toasted with lashings of butter followed by a neat nip of the vodka – what a supper indulgence! Unfortunately the Aldi closest to us does not sell any alcohol so we would have to drive 50 minutes to the next Aldi but I feel that it would be a drive well worth it!

  • Ohhhhhh wow! Now this is so ALDI, “good but different”. It’s one of those drinks that you just HAVE to try just to say you’ve tried it before it disappears off the shelf. Liqueur, vodka, hot cross buns, what’s NOT to love? Affordable at $24.99 per bottle. I’ll add this one to my ALDI shopping list. I deserve it! Xx

  • Oh wow this looks amazing , definitely adding to my shopping list for our next Aldi outing!

  • ALDI don’t have a bottle shop in Queensland, so I will need to do some research on how to get some of this. it sounds delicious.

  • I saw this on the MoM site, or maybe it was an MoM email. Not a bad price for a 500 ml bottle and I am really curious to try the sugar and cinnamon flavour.

  • You had me a Hot Cross Buns !!! Love the sound of a yummy Easter snack and my favourite liquor – what a combo. Looking forward to trying this snazzy little drop 🙂

  • I love hot cross buns, so i can definitely see myself giving this a go. I think it would make a great easter present for those adults who like a drink but aren’t super keen in chocolate as well will havebto have a look for it next time I’m in Aldi.

  • Definitely an interesting choice of flavour! Not something i can see myself going out of the way to trying as i dont generally love a classic hot cross bun flavour. But it’s festive and fun for the Easter period. Love the thought and creativity that went into it. Bottle packaging looks great too

  • I love a great novelty food inspired spirit and this hot cross bun vodka sounds delicious! Would be a nice way to Irish up a coffee and would also make a great Easter gift idea for the non-chocolate lover or someone who can’t consume dairy or sweets. Shame Aldi isn’t in QLD though!
