In a world-first that’s both bold and brilliant, Summer Land Camels has launched Camel Milk Vodka – French Oak Matured, a small-batch spirit that’s as unique as they come.

The launch marks 10 incredible years of sustainable innovation in agriculture by Summer Land Camels and raises the bar for groundbreaking spirits.

“We’re always striving to lead with innovation grounded in purpose. Camel Milk Vodka – French Oak Matured is a celebration of our commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and redefining what’s possible in Australian agriculture. It’s not just a spirit – it’s a story of transformation, turning what was once overlooked into something extraordinary, much like our camels themselves.”

Made with milk

Camel Milk Vodka – French Oak Matured comes straight from the farm, crafted in collaboration with award-winning Imbibis Craft Distillery. The team produces it in small batches and triple distils it to keep its character intact. Expect rich caramel notes, toasted oak and malted cream in every silky-smooth sip.

While the original vodka was already groundbreaking, this new French Oak Matured edition adds extra depth and a refined complexity that makes it perfect for sipping straight or mixing into your next signature cocktail.

What makes the vodka range so unique is its use of camel milk whey, which is a byproduct of the farm’s camel milk dairy products. Instead of letting the nutrient-rich whey go to waste, Summer Land Camels saw potential and went all-in on something new.

Sustainability at its core

Every bottle of vodka uses around three litres of camel milk whey, helping reduce food waste and environmental impact. It’s part of the brand’s whole-animal, no-waste approach to farming, one that puts sustainability and creativity at the heart of what they do.

A diverse product range

New-release French Oak Matured joins a spirit range that also includes Pure Camel Milk Vodka, Camel Milk & Honey Vodka and Barrel-Aged Camel Milk and Honey Vodka. Gift sets with glassware and assorted flavours are also available.

The liquor line joins the farm’s artisan skincare collection and award-winning Summer Land Dairy Products, which include Persian feta, fromage blanc, haloumi, gelato and, of course, fresh camel milk.

  • I’m not sure if I’m totally on board with this. For one, I’m lactose intolerant, so I’m not even sure if this would be safe for me to drink, or perhaps the lactose content is almost removed through the refinement process. And for two, I can’t even comprehend this color coming from milk?! My brain can’t brain this one…

  • On first reading the title, I thought it said Caramel Milk Vodka LOL 😂. The colour looks like caramel. Camel Milk is a strange concept. And brown coloured vodka, this is a first! Nevertheless, count me in! I’d love to try. But at $59 for a 200ml bottle…I may have to put it on my Christmas wish list 🙏

  • I mean, this looks very interesting but it’s not something I would have typically ever gone out searching for or buying on a whim. Perhaps try a sampler, as you never know unless you try these new and wonderful products.

  • This so such a weird concept I never imagined in a million years I would drink camel vodka! But I do love how it’s sustainable, using by product from the camel whey in the distilling process, I would give this a go because like everything don’t know till you try it

  • Fascinating and so different. I kept read that as Caramel Milk Vodka but then read that it has Caramel note sin the taste, so maybe not so far off. Because it is so different I think this might be a must try when I next get to a Dan Murphys.

  • This is wild but my friends and I love trying new alcohol so I’m ordering this right now for our next gathering. Excited to experiment with it and create some new cocktails. I’m all about reducing food waste so I have every reason to support this product and spread the word.

  • When I first read the heading I thought it said caramel oak vodka 🤣 silly me! I have never seen a brown vodka before, I wonder what this tastes like. I will have to see where it can be purchased and give it a try! What an interesting flavour to try.

  • Sumer Land Camel Vodka is amazing. Went out to the Farm for a day out and came back with Vodka, cheese, had an amazing home cooked meal. It was fantastic to support a local company. The vodka is a different and refreshing taste. Not what you would expect and just a new taste. We brought the tasting pack of 3 and have been working our way through the flavours. So new and refreshing to find something new. Highly recommend both the Vodka and a visit to Summer Land Camels

  • It sounds amazing! I have tried a Tasmanian product that is vodka made from sheep’s whey before and it was about the nicest vodka I had ever tried and I would be excited to try this one. I noticed there is also a honey variety too that sounds lovely. It is very expensive though.

  • What an amazing sounding product. I’m going to have to go and buy a bottle. I can’t even imagine the flavour, but having the barrel age would make it so much richer and more complex.
I love the sound of the honey infused version too.
A company that makes multiple ranges of products, to maximise use of resources, sounds great too.

  • Wow. I am excited to buy and try. Having Carmel milk whey is music to my ears – it excites me just thinking about the ingredients. I am sure it will taste sensational, as I truly enjoy my vodka but with added flavoured milk this should make the taste so much more pleasurable to drink.

  • I do enjoy a vodka. I’m puzzled at the colour. Vodka made from camel milk and it’s brown wow

  • I would be so curious to try camel milk as well as this camel milk vodka.

  • My husband an di went to a camel farm a while back and tried their camel salami and milk. they had liquor too but we didn’t get to try it. Def a unique flavour, I would be interested to give this a go! It sounds super interesting and unique to the market

  • This sounds like a really lush spirit. I’ve never had camel milk before and would be really interested to see what it’s like (maybe as a chaser to some of this hehe). I really like the look of the bottle. It looks small batch and exclusive, something special to bring out amongst great company

  • Wow, I haven’t ever heard of this and it is so interesting to think that 3 L of camel milk is used for each bottle. Such a different concept, and I am sure it would be smooth and delicious. I would like to also try that ice cream I saw in the pic too!

  • Wow, what a different concept. I will definitely put it on my list to try. Never thought I would see a vodka made out of camel milk whey. Great to see they come up with an idea that prevents wastage and to use everything from the camel. Well done Summer Land Camels

  • Very clever use of camel milk whey that might otherwise go to waste. I’d love to try this unique drink.

  • I am really loving the variety that spirit makers are going to these days, the flavours and unique tastes are really becoming a huge thing and I love it. I am not a huge vodka drinker but this sounds amazing and something i would love to try as I can never say no to anything caramel.

  • I have trried this. It was smooth and that touch creamy. I have slso tried csmel milk so very keen to try out the camel milk haloumi – it would be delicious friex up with turkish bread and wine. I love how creative aussie alcohol producers are bringing fresh and alternate spins to classic alcohol.

  • A very interesting one indeed! Definitely one I’ve never heard of. The name already throws it off for me as soon as i think about camel’s milk. Would i go out of my way to try this? Probably not! If i didnt know how it was made, then i might sample!
