VOK Beverages is shaking up the spirits scene with the launch of Real McCoy, an exciting new whiskey liqueur for sippers who crave flavour.

According to Johann Einarson from VOK Beverages, flavoured whiskey is no longer a trend, but an established drinks genre with a big fan base.

“With Real McCoy, we’ve created a product that not only taps into this demand but elevates the offering with craft, clarity and attitude. It’s accessible yet premium, highly versatile, and unapologetically bold – everything the new whiskey consumer is looking for.”

Two exciting debut flavours

Inspired by bootlegger, Bill McCoy of the prohibition era, Real McCoy’s flavoured range challenges whiskey norms by serving up big flavours, versatility and attitude.

An all-occasions sip

One of the reasons flavoured whiskeys are booming amongst creative sippers is because of its versatility. Enjoy it neat in a gorgeous whisky glass, chill it for flavour-packed shots or get creative with cocktail recipes.

Here are some of the cocktails Real McCoy has shaken up with the new range:

  • Espresso Martini – Featuring Salted Caramel Whiskey, it’s velvety and bold
  • Whiskey Sour – This one combines the citrus tang of lemon with nutty Buttered Popcorn Whiskey
  • Moscow Mule – Ginger and lime mix with Buttered Popcorn Whiskey for a fresh twist on an old favourite.

  • I’m not too sure about this, sounds a little gimmicky. I love my whiskey but the good aged whiskeys from reputable whiskey makers. Would be interested to try and be converted if this was for reviews but I definitely wouldn’t be spending money on this unless I was convinced first.

  • These sounds so fun! I would love to try salted caramel – in my mind it would be slightly sweet but smooth and delicious. How much fun. The espresso martini listed above sounds divine and so up my ally, I could think of a few drinks that would be elevated with some salted caramel whisky.

  • There is just so much out there that I want to try. I love the fact that they have those little minis available. A great way to taste test a bigger variety if we are not big drinkers, regularly. The flavours sound very tempting. I might have to take a trip to Dan Murphy’s.

  • These sound so so unique and unusual! I have never heard of popcorn flavoured whiskey before. I would rally like to try these, I wonder if these work well too in a whiskey caramel sauce too. Something extra special to add on pudding or ice cream for a tasty dessert

  • Omg! I’m so excited my two favourite flavours of sweet and savoury in my favourite drink whiskey! Both on the rocks for me please! Yum

  • Buttered popcorn whiskey, I wonder if it tastes as delicious as it sounds and for 700ml at $55 sounds quite reasonable aswell.

  • Did someone say espresso martini – OMG. They all sound amazing but I really love salted caramel so this would be my first option to try as anything caramel gets me every time. It sounds creamy and full of flavour. Perfect mixer in a cocktail. I will have to see if my local alcoholic store sells this.

  • I went to the bottle shop the other day and bought a bottle of Galliano Ristretto as something new to try. When I logged back in to this site today I was reminded about these new Real McCoy liqueurs. I will put them on my shopping list so I don’t forget next time.

  • Buttered popcorn whiskey sounds amazing!! I am not one that can drink Whiskey straight up but that is the only way that my husband drinks it – no ice, just neat. I think he would enjoy these flavours as they are something very different and sound a lot of fun to enjoy.

  • Espresso Martini I think, it sound delish. I am a big fan of Real McCoy whisky. Can’t wait to try all the new flavours

  • VOK has been around for as long as I can remember and always offer good quality liqueurs at a reasonable price. I would not have known that Real McCoy was part of VOK. I am really interested in trying these whisky flavoured liqueurs and am glad they come in a 50ml size so I can try both to see which one I prefer.

  • Oh these look lush! VOK was my go to for flavoured liqueur for cocktails for a very long time,I had no idea this was their whisky liqueur line. The buttered popcorn sounds really interesting and very unique. I’ve tried a few salted caramel whiskeys so far, but have never seen this flavour combination. Movie night drinks are sorted!

  • Oh this is definitely an interesting one to see! Ive tried so many VOK beverages before but never knew they were in the whiskey area. The small bottles shown look so cute and would make for great favours at parties too! The buttered popcorn one is one i;d like to try if i see it

  • I am not usually a whiskey drinker as I find it too strong with the alcohol taste, but I must admit these new flavours do have me tempted! I don’t think I have ever seen a popcorn flavour in anything else and it sounds perfect for movie night! Salted caramel sounds delish too!
