Love the classic Red Bull taste, but would rather skip the sugar? Red Bull Zero has arrived Down Under and it’s packing all the energy you crave, without the sweet stuff.

Designed to deliver the same iconic flavour and kick as the original energy drink, Red Bull Zero caters to those looking for a no-sugar alternative and a fresh new taste.

Unlike Red Bull Sugarfree, which has long been the go-to for fans avoiding sugar, Red Bull Zero offers a completely different flavour experience. The 250ml matte light-blue cans crack open to reveal a pleasant sourness with subtle notes of tutti frutti, pineapple and vanilla. It’s a bold balance between sweet and tart – think the classic Red Bull vibe, just with a fun twist.

How it’s different from Red Bull Sugarfree?

While both “no-sugar” varieties contain sucralose, Red Bull Red Bull Zero uses monk fruit extract as an additional sweetener, which is derived from the siraitia grosvenorii fruit. Red Bull describes the extract as being “intensely sweet” and “100-250 times sweeter than sucrose.”

Whether you’re powering through a study session, stuck in traffic on your morning commute or just rushing from task to task, Red Bull Zero delivers the same “wiiings” as the OG. It’s a practical option for anyone trying to cut back on sugar without giving up the energy boost.

WSL World Junior Champion and Red Bull Athlete Jarvis Earle is already a fan, saying the sleek new design and taste fit right into his daily routine.

“The new can looks really nice and clean – it’s a great new colour. I’ll be reaching for one in the afternoon, when I’m trying to reduce some calories and don’t want the sugar but still want that energy!”

If you’re looking for a sugar-free energy drink that doesn’t taste like one, this just might be your new go-to.

It comes just a few months after the launch of Red Bull Winter Edition, which is in stores now.

Red Bull Zero hits shelves at Woolworths, Coles and 7-Eleven from June 2025.

  • I have checked the coles app and this doe not look to be available yet. I am keen to try it when it does arrive. From a bit of googling it appears to now be at 7/11. Is the intent that it replaces the previous red bull zero or both will be available?

  • I dont drink red bull often ( unless im really in need of an energy hit) but if i do it usually just grab a regular can. I would definitely be keen to try the sugar free one next time although sometimes when your lacking energy you really want a sugar hit as well… :/

  • I don’t find Red Bull too sweet but I am curious to give this zero sugar Red Bull a try to see if I like it better than the original.

  • I remember in high school the cool older sisters of friend being Red Bull girls driving around handing out free cans! I don’t mind the taste of Red Bull but try and leave it as a sometimes kind of drink that I drink when.I really need a little pick me up or an energy boost.

  • I use to love red bull but since i have become a little more aware of the sugar in drinks I stopped drinking it. I love that they now offer a sugar free option, this will open up the market to allow those like me who prefer to have drinks without sugar or low sugar. I will have to give it a try when I see it on the shelves in Woolworths next.

  • I’m a big fan of redbull. I really loved their range they brought in with sugar free, and the taste has always been enjoyable. The new zero range sounds just as good, especially the tutti fruiti part. I will have to keep my eyes peeled in the shops for these!

  • I have never had a Red Bull or any other energy drink for that matter. They seem to have had a bad wrap for heart health over the years and that scared me off to the point that I don’t like seeing anyone drink them. It’s funny how something sticks in your mind.

  • I am not a big fan of red bull or most other energy drinks but the fact that this one is focusing on less sugar and a more natural sweetener derived from monk fruit. With pineapple and vanilla it sounds quite delicious……. I may just be converted to try energy drinks.

  • I like the direction that redbull is going with this new drink. If it can still taste somewhat the same as the OG redbull without the sugar, then im absolutely all for trying it! The new colour/can looks sleek and nice, in line with what i expect redbull to be. Definitely keen.

  • This sounds like a delightful spin on Red Bull, I can’t wait to give it a try. Really interesting using monk fruit as a sweetener. I’m not a huge fan of the after taste sucrose can leave behind so I love the chance to try something with an alternative while still being sugar free
