Full of flair and ready to shake things up, award-winning Wee Smoky is now available in over 400 stores across Australia.

Described as a “whisky for creators,” Wee Smoky Whisky was launched in 2020 as a single-grain Scotch like no other. It has a corn base, which makes it a lighter, sweeter sip and one that appeals to a new generation of creative sippers.

“Cocktail culture has continued to grow, yet we noticed that people weren’t choosing to mix Scotch whisky. We felt it was mostly because it looked too old-fashioned to attract younger drinkers. It wasn’t inviting people to mix it. Upon trying a cocktail made with a smoky Scotch whisky, I had a eureka moment. Wee Smoky is a whisky for creators, for movers and shakers, for people that don’t like whisky — yet.” Rory Gammell, Founder of Wee Smoky.

The whisky team recently took to LinkedIn to announce its Australian distribution and what it means for the brand’s vision.

“This marks a huge milestone to become the go-to smoky whisky for mixing. Whether you’re in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or beyond,” they posted.

Sweet and smoky

With a smooth and fruity profile, Wee Smoky is finished in premium peated casks and delivers a hit of smoke that transforms classic sips.

From the Smoky Paloma to the Wee Sour, this smoke-infused sip breathes new life into traditional cocktails and inspires a new generation of Scotch drinkers to get creative with cocktail-making.

  • I really love the name and I had a cat named Smokey! I’m a whisky drinker and love a nice drop but this is very expensive unless it’s a special occasion or a present for family or friends. I bet it’s a very smooth drink that tastes great over ice and with soda water!

  • I am loving the name of this whisky! I will be the first to admit that a catchy name and bottle will grab my attention to add to my collection or purchase as a gift for someone. It does seem like a lighter taste with a corn base which makes it great for refreshing cocktails in the summertime.

  • It has become quite a competitive market when it comes to whisky, gin, vodka etc. I would love to try Wee Smokey soon.

  • This Smoky Paloma Cocktail sounds delicious, I think all the alcohol shops are going to need to expand with all these wonderful new products out there nowadays. I’ve always liked Whiskey and the Scots seem to be the ones that make it best. I may have to give this one a try.

  • What a smart idea. Cocktails are what I lean towards and don’t think to use it for myself. My husband loves Whisky so it would be a great idea to have something we can both enjoy. The smokey Paloma sounds refreshing and delicious. They have made a very beautiful bottle, love the colour.

  • This Wee Smoky whiskey is SO up my alley! I love a rich smokey flavour in my whiskey and I love that this is Melbourne based! It’s so great to see an Australian distiller doing so well! The Smoky Paloma Cocktail using this sounds delightful too! I love me some grapefruit!

  • These look absolutely amazing and no I never would have thought to use a smoky whiskey in a cocktail I’m really keen to try the smoky palomino and I love a whiskey sour I think this would jazz it up a bit. I hope Santa brings me a bottle so I can experiment over Christmas

  • Gosh the article hit the nail on the head with this one. I never think of a scotch whiskey when im thinking mixers and cocktails. The bottle and colours are just gorgeous on this!! Definitely opens the doors to a wider market. Seriously looks so cool! I’d be keen to try it for sure
