The season’s about to shift, which means new routines, cooler evenings and a good excuse to change up what’s in your glass.

If you’re cutting back, staying sharp for busy weeks or simply curious about what’s out there, alcohol free drinks have come a long way. And trust us when we say they are much more than another product parked next to the soft drinks!

You still get the ritual of pouring, the proper glassware and that satisfying first sip, and a new season feels like the perfect time to try something different. So without further ado, here’s what the Best SIPS team is pouring right now.

Lyre’s Italian Spritz

Lyres Italian Spritz.

When you still want something that feels a little bit special, Lyre’s Italian Spritz delivers that familiar bittersweet orange lift without the alcohol. It’s bright and citrussy with a lovely touch of bitterness that wakes up the palate.

How to sip it:

Pour it over ice and add a slice of orange for something a little bit fancy. Or, follow the lead of countless fans and pair it with icy-cold tonic water for a long, sippable drink.

Heaps Normal Quiet XPA

Heaps Normal Quiet XPA non-alcoholic beer.

For the beer drinkers, Heaps Normal Quiet XPA keeps things crisp and refreshing. It has that subtle tropical hop character and clean finish you expect from an easy-drinking XPA, with enough body to feel like a proper beer.

How to sip it:

Keep a few in the fridge for midweek wind-downs or when you’re on driving duty. You still get big flavour, cold mouthfuls and the familiar crack of the can.

Doom Juice ZZVino

Doom Juice ZZVino zero-alcohol wine bottles.

If wine is more your thing, Doom Juice’s alcohol free varieties bring a fun vibe to the zero alcohol space.

Made by winemakers, ZZVino combines organically grown shiraz and chardonnay with cherry, blackberry and blueberry for an alcohol-free vino that’s got zero-sippers talking.

How to sip it:

Pour generously into your best wine glasses and enjoy with dinner or a simple platter. It feels like wine and tastes like wine.

  • I like the sound of zzVino’s Doom Juice, all the flavour without the alcohol. I will definitely be giving it a try. Heaps Normal sounds like a pleasant drink too, like a cider.

  • I am excited for the spritz! I love a spritz, particularly in warmer weather, and having a non alcoholic option is perfect, I’ve found all a drink needs is that ‘spicy’ or bitter element (like ginger beer, something with grapefruit etc) and then it really hits the spot for me!

  • I like the look of Lyres Italian Spritz. It has a breautiful, bright colour. A treat for the eyes as well as the tastebuds.

  • I absolutely love Lyre’s Italian Spritz. It really is like having a non alcoholic Aperol Spritz. I’ve been meaning to pick up some more and this has given me a great reminder. I’ll have to try the others listed here, they are new to me and all sound like really great options

  • I’ve tried all three and thwy all taste just like the alcohol version! We’re living in such a great time where we have so many options. I still remember when non alcoholic versions or alcohol drinks first started, they tasted quite terrible, we’ve come a long way, and I can say there’s definitely a market out there for it!

  • All of these drinks are new to me and not ones I have come across before. I have been trying to cut back on my drinking and looking for other options to enjoy with friends. These all sound lovely and I will have to make my way through the list and see if i can buy them locally.

  • I haven’t heard of any of these drinks before but thats part of the excitement of being in a group like this! I love reading about new drinks. Although im not entirelyyyy convinced over the zero alcohol options – i do say there are some fantastic ones out there that ive tried in bars!

  • I have tried alcohol-free drinks in the past but I found that sometimes afterwards, I was reaching for an actual alcohol drink anyway. Maybe it’s habit or maybe I need to change my mindset? These drinks above sound enticing. Lyre’s Italian Spritz would tickle my tastebuds for sure! Sounds like it would pack a punch! Nice!

  • They all spund delightful and there’s obviously a market for them, but I dontbthink I’d buy them. If I’m going to pay top dollar for a drink, I’d prefer it have an alcohol content. Otherwise I may as well save my money and buy a carton of Pepsi
