    The best way to enjoy whisky on a hot day!

    I really enjoyed this, and I prefer to drink whisky neat – you can still taste the whisky, so it’s perfect for whisky drinkers, but the soda and that Okinawan shikuwasa make it incredibly light and refreshing. In fact, the shikuwasa is kind of the hero in this drink. The whisky is there and enjoyable, but that light citrus note without being too sweet makes this really easy drinking.

    Lovely and refreshing grape drink

    I got so excited to try this monsula purple grape. It did not disappoint. I absolutely love it. I love soju and was always on the look out for something similar. I feel this monsula drink is what i’ve been looking for. I love the faint grape smell of it and the grape taste is so nice. It is not overly sweet which is perfect for me. It is a very refreshing drink and i can see myself drinking it more often during summer coming up.

    As soon as I cracked open the can, the aroma of citrus and soda instantly caught my attention, it’s unlike any premix whiskey I’ve ever smelt before. I poured it into a glass and was surprised by how crystal clear it looked, I even double-checked that it was actually whiskey. The first sip completely won me over, with the crisp whiskey flavour balanced perfectly with the refreshing lemon blend, and I was instantly hooked. It’s smooth, light, and so refreshing, the kind of drink that would pair perfectly with a fresh summer fruit platter. I’ve never been disappointed by Monsuta, and this one just confirms why, if you’re after a light, clean, and refreshing premix that still delivers that whiskey kick, this is an absolute must-try.

    Refreshingly smooth

    Refreshingly smooth and perfect for the warm weather. This Premium Highball Whisky, Citrus & Soda drink has the perfect balance of Whisky and Soda. It’s not overpowering at all in my opinion and I loved that it is low in sugar too. This is a great convenient pre-mixed option and I’ve already repurchased.

    A refreshing drink for summer

    I’m not a big whisky drinker, but when I was in Japan a few years ago, I developed a taste for Highballs.
    I was excited to trial the new Monsuta version, but wasn’t sure what to expect.
    The whisky flavour was more mild than I had thought, but balanced well with a citrus kick. On ice with a wedge of fresh lime, it was delicious on a warm spring day.

    Delicious over ice on a hot day!

    I think I have found my new go to! Has a nice grape flavour – think almost grape Hubba Bubba. Decent amount of fizz to keep it refreshing. Cans are aesthetically pleasing and nice to drink from, although having this over ice in a glass was the go to for me! Quite high in alcohol percentage, so watch that if you’re playing deso driver, but if not, drink away and enjoy a nice refreshing drink!

    Just given the new Monsuta Whisky highball a try and wow, this thing is so good. It’s super smooth and doesn’t have to strong of a whisky taste which was a pleasant surprise. Honestly impressed at how easy drinking it is, I plan to have a few more of these soon!!

    How refreshing and light

    For someone who won’t usually reach for whisky, this premixed whisky is a lovely surprise. It is delicious and refreshing, greatly balanced with the citrus flavour and the bubbly soda. What a great alternative at our recent BBQ. Our guests enjoyed it and thought it was a nice change! Will be a hit in our household party this summer!

    Nice drop. Grape Hubba Bubba notes immediately. Super strong and well-rounded drink. Don’t love soda so that did bring it down a bit. But I’d buy this again when on special for sure. 6/10.

    Unexpected taste

    Unfortunately I didn’t love this drink, it wasn’t sweet enough and had a really bad aftertaste from the fake sweetener. And I’m someone who normally drinks diet drinks! The grape bubblegum flavour was nice but I wouldn’t buy this product again, neither my husband nor I could finish the drink.

    Not the best, but not the worst

    When I think of grape my brain automatically goes to something that will taste like the grape hubba bubba. If yours does too, I probably wouldn’t recommend this drink. The flavour is very minimal and the soda pretty much takes over the flavour. It doesn’t have a pleasant aftertaste either.

    Grape flavour done right

    This drink SLAPS! At 7.3%, I had one and was buzzing! 💥 The grape flavour is very strong, similar grape flavour to a Chupa Chup; definitely brought back a bit of childhood nostalgia 🍇 It is not sweet at all. I usually am all for non-sweet drinks but felt a little sweetness wouldn’t go astray if I had to change one thing. I loved that they were affordably priced too, unlike other higher percentage drinks. Will definitely be buying again!

    These were good. I would buy again. It does have a strong grape flavour but I really enjoy grape flavour so it was good. These are strong. But I enjoyed and thought they were refreshing.

    At 1st sip it had my tastebuds baffled.. working out the flavours that were dancing around in my mouth.

    Refreshing!

    This is great, though much lighter than what I was expecting. From the first sip what hits me is the nostalgic taste of Hubba Bubba Groovy Grape tape! Monsuta Grape is very refreshing and crisp, easy to drink and just overall delicious. I think if you brought this to a gathering it’d be very memorable. Thoroughly enjoyed!

    Crisp, refreshing and distinctively different

    I have tried a few other Monsuta products and always found them to be very tasty and well balanced. This Chuhai is no exception to that standard. Crisp and refreshing with a fragrant grape nose (think grape hubba bubba), the balance of flavour and sweetness is on point, not overpowering on artificial flavour, perhaps the most surprising thing is how well balanced the 7.3% abv is. There is no overpowering alcohol taste just a very easy drinking, delicious and very different beverage.

    Bold grape flavour

    I loved the bold grape flavour that Monsutā Purple Grape Chūhai provides it reminded me of all those childhood lollies that I used to eat! I found it to be a tad sweet initially but the more I drank the more I enjoyed it. I found it to be the perfect combination to have on a warm summers night, perfect for anyone who wants a fruity refreshing drink.

    Surprisingly Refreshing with a Nice Kick

    It said sweet, but although it has a subtle sweetness, I found it more on the bitter end, which I found more enjoyable. At first I wasn’t sure if I loved or hated it! The Shochu had a nice taste and being my first time tasting Shochu, it has turned me onto it.
    I decided to have my second can over ice to see how that went and that’s how I would recommend having it.
    I will be buying this drink again.

    Warning however; that it definitely has a kick and just 2 cans gave me a good buzz.

    Purple Grape Monsuta

    I love trying different flavours of Japanese drinks. Monsuta is a brand I’ve not heard before and I love purple grape drinks. The packaging is pretty cool with sumos squishing grapes and Mount Fuji in the background. It tastes refreshing with the mix of vodka, shochu and purple grape. It is a double serve of alcohol per can so pls drink wisely!

    Refreshing but not too sweet!

    Expected it to be very sweet (thinking like a fruit tingle) but it was definately different to that. It was refreshing and the combination or the two different alcohols of vodka and shochu were delicious. At 2 standard drinks a 4 pack of this would be perfect to take along to a BBQ. Delicious and refreshing, and would be great with ice to make it extra cold.

    Grape delight

    Strong grape flavour and not overly sweet or artificial. Refreshing and enjoyable on a warm day. Very strong alcoholic level at 7.3% so it packs a punch. I would only be able to drink 2 with such a high alcoholic level. The soda and sochu are nice without overpowering the vodka.

    This drink was really interesting, it had a grape flavour which reminded me of Grape flavoured Hubba bubba from when I was a kid. It had a slight sour after taste with some nice bubbles. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I expected and will probably not try it again, just not my taste.

    Highball review

    I was lucky to review the Highball whisky citrus and soda cans. They are light and refreshing and perfect for a nice hot day! It started to get a bit too sour for me when I was into my 2nd can, but still enjoyable! Had it with a nice sushi dinner and it was perfect! Very enjoyable and smooth fresh drink.

    Refreshing

    I tasted this today during an afternoon bbq.
    I could keep drinking it however I feel there needs to be a bit more sweetness. Just a tad. Maybe it’s just my taste buds.
    It was quite refreshing and I was actually shocked to how much alcohol that was in the product. It was easy to drink for the amount.

    Enjoyable drink over ice

    The packaging of the cans are really exciting and stand out on the shelf. Unfortunately, the flavour of the drink itself wasn’t great. It has a strong soda water flavour with a bitter aftertaste left on the palate. I can’t taste the whiskey at all. I don’t think I’ll purchase this again.

    Yummo!!

    Such a great refreshing drink, love that it’s not too sweet. Has a great grape hit. The can has a great design too. I added ice but it is great straight from the can. Perfect for a summers day or a bbq. It’s 2 standard drinks so strong in alcohol.

    Refreshingly smooth

    Refreshingly smooth and perfect for the warm weather. This Premium Highball Whisky, Citrus & Soda drink has the perfect balance of Whisky and Soda. It’s not overpowering at all in my opinion and I loved that it is low in sugar too. This is a great convenient pre-mixed option and I’ve already repurchased.

    Purple grape !

    Certainly refreshing, instantly the aroma takes over as soon as it’s opened up. Can imagine this being ideal and convenient on a summer days. Slightly strong in the alcoholic content but guessing some live that. Love the can and visuals of it. Keen to try the other flavour now too.

    New Fav for Summer

    I wasn’t sure what to expect from these drinks, I thought It might be more for the younger crew. But this is actually a refreshing, flavourful drink. The grape reminded me of Hubba Bubba chewing gum. But it had a slight fizz and a good alcohol content. I will be stocking up for Summer!

    Interesting but lovely drink

    I was unsure about this drink until I tried it. The grapes was a lovely flavour. Very easy to drink 1,2 or 3. High alcohol percentage, so 2 were enough for me. I would never had tried these otherwise, so glad I got the opportunity to try and review these.

    Good initial taste

    On first sip it had a great strong gravel flavour but then it fades away to just taste like Alcohol mixed with soda. It also leaves a bit of an aftertaste. I think it’s worth a try for people who like seltzers as it’s comes across very similar to those

    So refreshing!

    Its a hot Spring day in Sydney and I went bushwalking this morning. Eating my lunch at home and I just tried the Monsuta and it was absolutely delightful. A nice sweet grape soda with vodka. I think this is my new favourite drink. I will be coming back for seconds!

    Strange tasting

    Purple grape flavour is enjoyable but very sweet. These have a very strange, unfamiliar taste to them which is not appealing. They are also quite strong, 2 standard drinks per can. Offered a taste to 2 others who thought the same thing. Not enjoyable and did not finish the can unfortunately.

    Slight citrus flavor but not overpowering. Yum!

    Wasn’t sure what to expect being 1.7 standard drinks with soda water but was surprised to find the whisky wasn’t overpowering and the balance of citrus and whisky was perfect. I was expecting the alcohol to be overpowering but it was a perfect balance. Refreshing drink for a hot summers day:)

    Burst of flavour on initial sip!

    This drink reminds me of summer. And im not even too sure why. On initial sip you get this strong burst of citrus and whisky, then its smooth on the way down. I can see myself drinking this in summer on ice. Refreshing. Id like to try the grape flavour as Im thinking that might be more my vibe but i like what they’ve done here. Im not sure its unique or stands out at all – but its a refreshing burst of citrus!
